Our evening presenter, Maggie Chicoine says: "This session was conceived during past CAPS Conventions. I was astounded when colleagues who were honoured to introduce Main Platform keynoters, stumbled on names and struggled with titles. From scribbled and crumpled notes to lengthy yawnable bios and even a mini-keynote or two, I was puzzled. As pros, we need to get better at this!
Two questions buzzed in my head: since we make our living speaking, why don't we know how to write and present great introductions? Doesn't anyone teach "Introducer" skills?"
The answers were simple, I designed the program. I am honoured to join yet another CAPS Chapter to present this session and help you to be an amazing professional Introducer as well as a pro speaker, trainer and facilitator.
In this engaging and pragmatic session, learn how to:
o extract the essentials from an extensive bio and summarize the most intriguing elements
o write a concise introduction, using a creative 3 part formula (that subtly hooks the audience)
o stage the introduction to highlight the presenter
o take the lectern and capture the audience's attention
o bridge awkward and unexpected moments
o warm up the audience
o and, prepare your own savvy intro to distribute to meeting planners so that
you stand out from other speakers by crafting a more effective, powerful and easy to read introduction
Mix, meet and mingle over dinner. Open to members and non-members. The more you learn more about other speaker's businesses, the greater the opportunity you will have to become a valuable resource to your clients.
